10.10.2014

Effective

immediately

the National Bank of Romania has modified the functionalities of its Depository and Settlement System together with the SaFIR System Rules.

As a consequence, against payment (DVP) trades in the secondary market for Romanian government bonds denominated in EUR can settle in EUR and be paid in Romanian New Leu (RON) with immediate effect, provided that the counterparties to the trade have so agreed.

Note: The same deadlines will apply as for DVP trades in RON-denominated government bonds.
