Optimal connectivity configurations to exclude Microsoft Windows XP

20.02.2014

Effective

8 April 2014

Clearstream1 customers are reminded that proprietary technical support for the Microsoft Windows XP operating system will cease2.

In these circumstances, Clearstream will not be able to ensure that customers using Windows XP will have a compatible configuration to access our connectivity applications.

Software that is no longer supported by the manufacturer is not considered to be compatible with an appropriate configuration.

Should customers continue to use Windows XP after 8 April 2014, our Connectivity Help Desk will provide assistance on a “best efforts” basis only.

We recommend that all customers use one of Clearstream’s fully tested configurations, which currently include:

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard SP1;
  • Java SE 7 (JRE) update 45 (32-bit);
  • Internet Explorer IE8 8.07601.17514;
  • SafeNet Authentication Client 8.2 (if using smartcard).

Customers with other configurations must, in order to receive technical support from us, ensure that they use the minimum (or later) software versions specified by Clearstream but full compatibility cannot be assured. The current minimum requirements are:

  • Windows 7 or Windows Server 2003;
  • Java SE 6 or 7 (JRE) with any update;
  • Internet Explorer 8;
  • SafeNet Authentication Client 8.1 SP1 (if using smartcard).

To safeguard processing in the event of system access problems, we strongly recommend that customers have in place a contingency solution that is suitable for the specific connectivity media.
