Impact on clients

This release changes how users access Xact Web Portal by introducing alternative login methods and removing the mandatory requirement for certificates, offering greater flexibility while maintaining the same robust level of platform security.

Key improvements

  • Modernised login and multi-factor authentication (MFA):
A redesigned login interface supporting flexible authentication methods alongside traditional certificates. In addition to existing certificates, users will be able to use passwords, mobile one-time passwords (OTP) and email OTP. A minimum of two authentication factors will be required.
  • Improved user self-service:
Intuitive self-service options allowing users to manage their access and credentials more independently and efficiently.
  • Enhanced administrative tools:
  • An upgraded user management module providing a more powerful and intuitive experience for security administrators, equipping them with comprehensive tools to:
    • Manage the full user lifecycle: Seamlessly create, onboard, suspend, reactivate and delete users.
    • Control user details and credentials: search for users, modify their information and manage their certificates and authentication methods.

Important notes

  • No interruption to access: Existing certificates will remain fully functional. Users are not required to replace or re-upload them. No immediate action is required on the user’s part.
  • Client testing: Dates will be communicated in due course.
  • Credentials: Clearstream recommends that clients store their user ID details, as it is a unique identifier along with an email address that will allow them to login to the system. Clients should ensure that the email address linked to their profile is valid.
  • Guidance and documentation: Clearstream will provide comprehensive details and updated user guides closer to the release date.
