U.S.A.: FATCA : IRS allocates GIINs to Clearstream and LuxCSD
The U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has allocated Global Intermediary Identification Numbers (GIINs) to Clearstream Banking1 and to LuxCSD S.A.
This follows our registration on the portal of the IRS as “Registered Deemed Compliant FFI-Model I Reporting FI”.
The GIINs for the individual institutions are as follows:
| Clearstream Banking S.A.: | N1V1GJ.00000.LE.442 |
| Clearstream Banking AG: | N1V1GJ.00002.ME.276 |
| LuxCSD S.A.: | N1V1GJ.00001.ME.442 |
As a consequence, the above entities are now considered as being FATCA-compliant under the FATCA regulations and we expect our GIIN to be included in the first list of FATCA-compliant financial institutions due to be published by the IRS on 2 June 2014.
The registration of a GIIN by Clearstream Banking is a significant milestone in the evolution of our FATCA service, which is scheduled for delivery to our customers by 1 July 2014.
