Spain: Proposal to strengthen standard refund requirements
The Spanish Tax Authorities have published a draft order to modify and strengthen the current standard refund requirements.
The main changes aim at:
- Increasing the quality of tax information provided at beneficial owner level and at intermediary level when the reclaims are processed through a chain of intermediaries; and
- Improving the effectiveness of controls by the Spanish Tax Authorities.
The draft order is currently under public consultation and pending approval.
