Greece: Postponement of capital gains tax implementation confirmed
Effective
1 January 2014
Capital Gains Tax (CGT) on equities is officially set to be implemented at the rate of 15%.
This is further to our Taxflash LT13048, dated 26 June 2013, and confirms that the Greek Parliament has approved the Income Tax Bill that included the postponement of the implementation of CGT on equities until 1 January 2014.
The details of the Law and the practical aspects of the implementation of the CGT have not yet been communicated.
