France: French Financial Transaction Tax (FTT) cancellation of publication of the list of eligible securities
Clearstream Banking1 would like to inform its customers that the Law on the simplification of the life of companies (“Loi de Simplification de la Vie des Entreprises”) was adopted and published on 21 December 2014 in the Official Journal through Law number 2014-1545 of 20 December 2014. Article 53 of the Law cancelled the annual Ministerial Order that provided the list of securities impacted by the French Financial Transaction Tax (FTT) and the list will no longer be published.
As a result of this, Clearstream Banking will no longer publish a list of securities impacted by FTT.
Background
Annually a Ministerial Order was published with the list of companies whose head office is located in France and whose market capitalisation exceeds EUR 1 billion on 1 December of the previous year.
This Ministerial Order was published for information purposes and was not a binding document for the French Tax Authorities.
