Spain: New withholding tax rate - reminder

Further to Announcement A14167, dated 8 December 2014, Clearstream Banking1 would like to inform customers that effective

1 January 2016

the standard withholding tax rate on all Spanish securities (debt securities and equities) will be reduced from the current 19.5% to 19%.

For the time being, the withholding tax rate applicable to interests and dividends distributed by Public or Private companies issued by the Autonomous Community of Navarra will remain at 20%.

The lists of “Double Taxation Treaties concluded by Spain and currently in force” for bonds and equities will be updated on 1 January 2016.
