Denmark: New online tax procedure for standard refund

11.01.2017

Effective

immediately

the Danish Tax Authorities (SKAT) have implemented a new online tool for the filing of standard reclaims of tax withheld on Danish dividend payments.

Reclaims submitted in paper form will consequently no longer be accepted by SKAT as of 1 April 2017, and should instead be submitted online only.

Impact on customers

Customers wishing to reclaim tax on Danish dividends through the standard refund procedure via the existing paper form solution, should provide the required documentation to Clearstream Banking1 no later than 10 February 2017. After this date standard reclaims must be submitted online only.

Clearstream is currently in the process of reviewing the new online process and the documentation requirements with its custodian and will provide further guidelines on the new process shortly.
