Investment funds in Bahamas can be in the form of: 

  • A unit trust (UT), a common law trust managed by a unit trustee; 

  • Company: 
    • Segregated accounts company (SAC) registered under Segregated Accounts Companies Act, 2004;  
    • International Business Company [IBC] registered under International Business Companies Act, 2000. 
  • Partnership 
    • Exempted Limited Partnerships (ELP) under the Exempted Limited Partnerships Act. 
  • Unit Trust under the Common Law; 

  • Mutual Funds under the Investment Funds Act, 2019 (“IFA”) and Investment Fund Regulations, 2020 (“IFR”); 

  • Unit Trust under the Common Law; 

  • Mutual Funds under the Investment Funds Act, 2019 (“IFA”) and Investment Fund Regulations, 2020 (“IFR”); 

  • Private Equity Funds under the IFA and IFR; 

  • Hedge Funds under the IFA and IFR; 

  • Pensions Funds under the IFA and IFR; 

  • REITS under the IFA and IFR; 

  • Investment Condominium (“ICON”) under the Investment Condominium Act, 2014.
